Pregnancy Series: Introduction
Pregnancy is that absolutely blessed time in your life when you are lucky enough to nurture and sustain another human being. How incredible is that?! I mean, what else could you possibly want, except maybe to know what the heck is happening to your body. Pregnancy is beautiful, but it is also scary, especially for first time moms. I say that, the second time around presents just as much anxiety and expectations that leave you feeling both elated and scared poopless: see my post about when I found out I was pregnant.
When I found out I was pregnant with my son, I wanted to know everything. I read everything I could get my hands on, including books, blogs and chats. Stay away from chats, for the love of everything good. Expectant mama chatrooms are full of mama drama and other unqualified people such as yourself giving “expert advice”.
Mom Tip: Find Something That Makes This Just a Little Easier
I did however, find a great deal of solace and entertainment reading other bloggers share their experiences. Just reading about others with some of the same concerns, symptoms and daily life helped me to feel connected and grounded at a time that feel so transitory. I think transitional times are difficult for women in general, but I specifically struggle with anything I consider to be “inbetween”. And that is just what pregnancy is. Your body is not your own. Life has changed already and you feel this constant nagging worry for your unborn child, and yet, you don’t have their sweet heads to smell yet. It is real, but it feels surreal somehow.
And a New Pregnancy Series Begins…
So, with baby constantly on the brain (that or the need to throw up mid-post), I decided I wanted to do a pregnancy series. More power to all those expectant mommy bloggers that manage to do weekly updates, umm, yeah, that is probably not going to happen. I am however, planning to keep track of progress a few weeks at a time. I would love for my readers to send any soon-to-be mamas my way to check out my pregnancy series. Hopefully it will be light and still contain some laughs.
Don’t worry, I also still plan to write snarky posts about motherhood with some occasional uplifting positivity posts to balance it out. I may even have some awesome guest posters helping me out. *If you are interested, please let me know!*
Please don’t hesitate to ask any questions you have related to pregnancy and motherhood my way. Other than medical advice, which I will just tell you to ask your doctor rather than sharing with the internets, I will do the best of my ability to help. If you need help announcing, check out my post: 8 Creative Pregnancy Announcements
Hope y’all enjoy.

I could also use some advice about which car seat to choose. Our chicco keyfit that I love is expired. Any recommendations?
