Mom Braid Tutorial for the Busy Mom

Sometimes life is fast and comes at you with a ferocity that is hard to keep up with. I have those days. I also can be lazy. I thought being a parent would somehow make me into this unattainable human that could handle any challenge. It just didn’t work out that way. I still struggle with everyday. I admit that I sometimes have super human strength when it comes to my son, but other than that, life just is. On top of all of that, it is sometimes hard not to be lazy. I don’t get naps or a moment just to vedge the way I could pre-children.

Then, there is the subject of personal hygiene. Unfortunately, I probably will talk about my hygiene, or lack thereof at great length. I maybe don’t take much time in this area. Thankfully, due to extended breastfeeding, I have super spidy senses when it comes to smell. I can smell cologne on the other side of the movie theater. Dude, you are not helping anyone by drenching yourself. It may be a hinderance in some ways, but at least I know when I stink…or at least I think I do.

Anyway, tangent gone long…I made a how-to tutorial for a mom braid. It is the ultimate, I don’t care, I wanna wear no makeup and do a mom bun. But, I do that everyday and I get a headache having the massiveĀ mane of hair heaped onto my head all day long. Moms need no help getting a headache, we have constant whining from a human with an underdeveloped emotional and sensory system. Plus, I want to look like I tried. It is like wearing a dress. The little secret of the female community, you only pick out one item and you look like you put effort into your appearance. Shhh…

I would apologize for the lack of makeup in the video, but it isn’t a weekend or special occassion, so I won’t. It’s real life y’all.

So, hopefully some of you might try this braid. Let me know if it works. I have not done many how-to videos and I am still working on being more comfortable in front of a scary camera. Maybe I think it is trying to steal my soul or something – too many period-based horrors I guess.

Oh, and if you are successful in your mom braid, please post pictures here and on my youtube.

Oh yeah, and please like and subscribe to both my blog and youtube. Thanks y’all.

Spread the love

I am a terrible braider, but you make it look so easy! Maybe I’ll give it another try… My crazy top knot buns are getting a little boring. šŸ˜‰

Addison, that is so cute! I struggle with getting my hair done on mom days (especially when it’s too long and I don’t have time to get it cut). I will definitely give this a try!

That’s super cute! Wish my hair was longer. I’ve been cutting it too much too often. Need to grow it again so I can style it better with updos. Because really, who has time for fancy hair do’s.

I’m going to need to practice this ALOT before I’m ready to be seen in public- I just don’t seem to have enough fingers! And you make it look it so easy!!!
